About 30 miles south, on the outskirts of Delhi, Osho Dham is a pristine and peaceful space for the spiritually-inclined.
Founded by Swami Om Prakash Saraswati with the Blessings of Osho, Osho Dham has been an Energyfield for thousands of seekers to explore their inner treasures in deep silence. The whispering bamboos, twittering birds and rippling water, in the sprawling intensely green surrounds of the place only add to the profound silence that is continually throbbing here. Switching from laughter to silence and silence to celebration comes easy here, with Osho’s blessings showering all around.
Osho Dham is open 365 days a year and Meditation techniques are practiced in individual and group formats, both in the open as well as indoor areas. Robust facilities allow for Meditation that stops-at-nothing, not hail nor the baking sun. Seekers from India and the world-over, converge here to participate in Meditation retreats and benefit from the pulsating energy-field that has built up with the continued practice of Meditation over the last 25 years. The deep silences ingrained in every inch of Osho Dham are an invitation to dive into your own being and the throbbing celebrations in the Buddha Hall are a reminder of the Master’s promise that He will be present where even a handful of his sannyasins join together in music meditation and celebration.
Welcome to the Energyfield of Osho.
A born rebel or a freedom fighter or a highly educated person or a top corporate executive or a sannyasin? Is it possible to find such a versatile being? YES! Everything is possible with the blessings of Osho for the authentic seekers who came to Him and remained at His feet, before taking the highest flight and dissolving into the Ultimate. Swami Om Prakash Saraswati is one such blessed being who scaled the peaks of worldly success and then surrendered unconditionally at the feet of the Master, dissolving himself completely. Lovingly known as “Swamiji”, he is the epitome of absolute surrender by a disciple to his Guru.
In 1978, Osho sent Swamiji to Delhi to start a meditation center and He also gave Swamiji the name for this new Centre – Rajyoga Rajneesh Dhyan Kendra. This is how the Centre (now known as Osho Rajyoga) came into being. Swamiji’s powerful presence made this Centre the fulcrum of Osho’s work for the entire northern India conducting meditation camps, distributing audio/video discourses, publishing magazines and more. In 1981, when Osho went to the United States, the Center began publishing a newsletter “Rajneesh Buddhafield” to connect people with Rajneeshpuram, Oregon. The creation of Osho Dham, a meditation campus on the outskirts of Delhi, was the culmination of Swamiji’s efforts to provide a suitable space for meditation for a large number of seekers with restful accommodation facilities. Swamiji’s commitment and love enabled the realization of Osho’s vision ‘to bring meditation to the marketplace’ when Osho World Galleria was inaugurated at Ansal Plaza, a fashionable mall in the heart of south Delhi. The creation of the website www.oshoworld.com a treasure chest of Osho’s audio & video discourses, ebooks, posters, meditations and articles; and the publication of monthly magazines Osho World Patrika and Osho News were further manifestations of Swamiji’s vision to make Osho available to a Seeker in any corner of the world.
The accommodations at Osho Dham are thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with nature, creating a distraction-free environment ideal for meditation. Each building is aesthetically minimalist, with solar heating and innovative designs—such as sunken structures—to naturally regulate temperature across seasons.
The exteriors are painted black, merging harmoniously with the natural surroundings to avoid visual distractions. Black is also deeply symbolic, representing death—the shedding of ego—while the white interiors signify rebirth, purity, and new beginnings. Together, they reflect a meditator’s inner journey, as one has to sacrifice his ego to be reborn.
Black, the color of depth and absorption, reminds seekers to delve into their inner depths, while its ability to absorb negativity complements white’s positivity and openness.
With a variety of accommodation types to suit different budgets and preferences, Osho Dham ensures that every seeker finds a space aligned with their needs, allowing them to immerse themselves fully in meditation and the serene energy of the space.
The Rabia Dining Hall is more than just a place to eat; it’s a space where nourishment becomes a meditative experience. Open from three sides, the hall immerses you in the serene embrace of nature, keeping you connected to Osho Dham’s vibrant Buddhafield even during meals.
The food served here carries the authenticity of simplicity and care. Much of it is sourced directly from Osho Dham’s own farms—organic wheat, fresh vegetables, and lentils—allowing you to savor the real, unaltered flavors of nature.
Dining in Rabia is not just about eating; it is about feeling grounded, connected, and present. Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of trees and open skies, every meal becomes a celebration of life’s simplest yet most profound joys.
