BHOPAL:
The conspiracy to wipe off all Osho memories which involved destruction of sacred Buddha Hall Dhyan Mandir by Canadian disciple Michael O' Bryne at the Osho Commune in Pune should be immediately stopped, urged one of the 21st trusted Osho disciples Swami Anand Tathagat here on Thursday.
Talking to media persons here, Swami Anand stated that the disciple Michael, who is claiming to be the Manager of the Osho Commune in Pune, had got copyright of books penned by Osho, the paintings autographed by him, the audio-video discourse tapes and other spiritual material. The books penned by Osho are not being reprinted in the United States in their original form.
Talking about the destruction of Buddha Hall Dhyan Mandir in Pune without consent of the Osho disciples or even the permission of the Pune Municipal Corporation, he stated that the Osho disciples are worried about Osho's memories being wiped out in a conspiracy.
Swami Anand stated that just as the sacred Somnath temple had been re-built, the Buddha Hall Dhyan Mandir in Pune must be restored and if those who destroyed the hall do not find themselves able to do so, they should immediately hand over the Osho Commune to the 'Osho World' founded from New Delhi for rebuilding the same, he demanded.
Denying any dispute over claims on Osho's property, he said that some news had appeared in the media that two groups were trying to get hold of the property. 'Our fight is to maintain the priceless memories of Osho and save it from being destroyed.
Those who destroyed the the structure had a plan to shape the valuable land in Pune as a 'Tourist Resort' and that as true disciples of Osho, the members of 'Osho World' will not allow, he said.
Swami Chaitanya Keerti, Editor of the Osho World Magazine, informed that he had decided to spread the message of Osho across the world without charging even a penny while there are disciples of Osho who were indulging in wiping off Osho memories within the Osho Commune . The spiritual material of the Osho Commune for them is being taken as a trade to make money. They (some disciples) have no sacred mission over managing the Osho Commune, he added.
He questioned that why some disciples wanted to commercialise spiritual material which comprised 10,0000 books which are sold only in India besides the other video and audio tapes and other material, he said.
Swami Keerti said that the shifting of the Osho Commune International headquarters from Pune to Osho International Foundation ( OIF), Zurich and Osho Internatiaonal, New York ( Publishing headquarterts); the trade marking of the name Osho, exercising copyright over his words and meditations and commercialising properties are some of the other issues that have upset essentially senior Indian disciples such as Ma Yoga Neelam, Swami Tathagat and scores of others.
He has appealed to all Osho disciples to reach the Osho Commune, Pune, on January 19th to observe the birth anniversary celebration of Osho and to show their strength and will against the destruction of the Buddha Hall. If the Osho International Foundation members who destroyed the Buddha Hall had any difficulty in rebuilding the same, the 'Osho World' will provide all help to rebuild that again, he added.
