'Emerging Layers' - An Exhibition of Digital Arts

The
EMERGING LAYERS : “Art invents, art does not discover. It is not interested in discovery, it is inventive, it is imaginative, it is projective.”_ Osho

Osho World is celebrating imagination and creativity with the launch of  “Emerging Layers”, an exhibition of Digital Arts by Preyas Mehta, from 30th August to 6th September, 2003, at the Osho World Galleria in Ansal Plaza, New Delhi

Osho says, “With art you have some projections, some ideas as a requirement. Before you come to the rose-flower you have to come with some dreams in your mind, you have to nourish dreams. When those dreams are overflowing they will overflow onto the roseflower, they will surround the roseflower with a glory, with an aura, and you will see
something which is not there. You will see something which is really inside you and is only reflected from the outside back to you. Art is a dream; it is dream stuff.”

The artist Preyas Mehta is an Advertising and Media Person who himself describes his work as a constant play with imagination, creativity and opportunity. Preyas Mehta’s imagination aided by an info tech mouse under his fingers, explored the space with a puddle of colours, line and form which was manifested in images that creates mysterious worlds with blurs and glows giving a dream-like quality, at times, over-laying
images with variations of themselves for an other worldly effect.

These composite Digital Images, originally created with multiple brushes, layers, effects, lighting and paint textures - with chance encounters, culminating with various parameters of individual layers - playing around with infinite permutation to create a distinctive image, with manipulations at various stages enabling a great artistic freedom
in the emergence of the final image.

“I experiment and experience from within, but, leave rest to imagination.....”, says the artist.
