KRISHNA WEEK CELEBRATIONS AT OSHO WORLD GALLERIA

To mark the birth of Lord Krishna, Osho World celebrated Krishna Week from 9th to 16th August 2006 at Osho World Galleria, Ansal Plaza, New Delhi. The week was inaugurated by Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh on 9th August at 6.00 pm. Osho’s discourses on Lord Krishna and the Bhagwad Geeta will be highlighted with his books and audios. Daily meditations with Osho discourses on Lord Krishna will be held at 6.00 p.m. at the galleria during the week. Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh will dedicated an evening to the Lord of Love through a “baithak” interpreting episodes from the life of Krishna to a houseful audience. She brought a bubbling verve and joy while praising Lord Krishna on his playfulness or ‘Leela’. Osho says, “Krishna is far closer to life. The flute is the symbol of life. Dressed beautifully, standing in a dancing posture, the flute in his hands on his lips, it looks like he is going to sing a song at any moment. He looks so alive, and he is wearing a beautiful crown of flowers with peacock feathers. This is far truer to life. That's how life is. It is tremendous joy.” Osho brings out the essence of Krishna as the symbol of all that is life affirmative, beautiful and celebrating. Krishna stands for “Samyama”, that middle state where there is neither renunciation nor indulgence. Osho says, “Krishna is the only person in the whole history of human consciousness who is tremendously in love with life, with the poetry of life, with the music of life, with the dance of life. He is not at all life-negative, he is very affirmative. And he accepts life as it is; he does not put god and the world as opposites.” Osho’s vision of New Man incorporates Krishna’s playfulness known as Raas Leela and living life totally without escaping from formidable situations. Osho says

“The flute is life, love, song, signifying celebration. Krishna is the only god in the world's mythology who is a dancing god, and the world needs a dancing god”. _ Osho
