“APP DEEPO BHAV” CELEBRATIONS AT OSHO WORLD GALLERIA
“App
Deepo Bhav: Be a light unto yourself” celebration
began at the Osho World galleria, on 14 th October
2005. While celebrating the festival of lights, Osho
World dedicates this week to enlightened mystic Buddha’s
message for search of the inner light.
Osho has extensively spoken on Buddha’s message
of “App Deepo Bhava” in His
discourses when says the enlightened mystic 'Be
a light unto yourself. Be a lamp unto yourself' Don't
search for light anywhere else; the light is already
there, the fire is already there. Just probe a little
deeper into your being, enquire. Maybe much ash has
gathered around the fire... just probe deep inside,
and you will find the spark again. And once you have
found a single spark inside yourself, you will become
a flame soon, you will be a fire -- a fire that purifies,
a fire that transforms, a fire that gives you a new
birth and a new being.”
Classical singer Vidya Shah presented a melodious
evening during the occasion.
Vidya began her journey into the world of music
at the age of 12 when she started learning South
Indian Classical music. As a young Carnatic vocalist
Vidya performed on the AIR and Doordarshan and had
several concerts to her credit.
With her love for and exposure to the North Indian
style of classical music, she decided to make a foray
into this style of vocal music. She has been trained
under renowned vocalist Shubha Mudgal in Khayal
Gayaki and with Smt.Shanti Hiranand in Thumri and Dadra.
“App Deepo Bhav,” a
collection of gift products dedicated to the festival
of lights was also launched during the occasion.
On display are collections appropriate for the festive
season – an array of lights & lighting
arrangements in various materials – silver,
copper, glass, ceramic and wood apart from the customary
candles.
An ode to the warmth of a flame – the flame
of hope & knowledge, this collection offers a
range of candle covers, candle screens, floating
bowls, arrangements of diyas, candle stands and bases.
The highlight of this year’s collections is
the manner in which the classic Indian tradition
of lighting oil lamps is re-interpreted with wax
filled copper diyas & clusters or series of Sterling
silver diyas joined together.
