Kabir was a poet, a weaver who lived in the fifteenth century. His songs and poems are a lyrical declaration of the treasure we hold within and a reminder to celebrate our humanity. Kabir sings, “ the formless is in the midst, of all forms, I sing the glory of all forms.” Osho sings in reply “So let us sing the glory of the manifold forms – and that will be an indirect praise to God. God cannot be praised directly; one has to be indirect. You can offer your praises to God through a rose flower, through a beautiful rock, through a beautiful woman or man. You have to sing the glory of existence”. Osho’s eloquent wisdom is a wake up call, a challenge to acknowledge our own light just as he does – and just as Kabir did five hundred years ago.
