BUDDHA WEEK CELEBRATIONS AT OSHO WORLD GALLERIA

Osho World Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of meditation and spirituality and devotes a week every month to the teachings of saints, mystics and sages. The Foundation is also making efforts to promote arts as an expression of meditation and creative energy.

Gautam the Buddha is a giant leap in human consciousness. Compassion is the true flowering of meditation. In His book, A Bird on the Wing, Osho says, "Go deeper and deeper into meditation so you can go higher and higher in compassion. The deeper the roots of a tree reach the higher the peak. You can see the tree, you cannot see the roots, but they are always in proportion. If the tree is reaching to the sky the roots must be reaching to the very end of the earth. The proportion is the same. As deep as your meditation is, the same depth will be achieved in compassion. So compassion is the criterion."

This state of compassion was the theme during the Buddha Week at Osho World Galleria Ansal Plaza, Khelgaon Marg, New Delhi, from May 22-28, 2005.

The chanting of sutras by Shruti took the gathering into deep meditation at the galleria during the inauguration of the week on 22nd May 2005.

Osho, the enlightened mystic of the 21st century, has provided new and deeper insights on the path shown by Gautama the Buddha. Explaining the essence of Buddha, Osho has spoken as if he was one with Buddha. Osho said the path of Buddha is the path of total surrender: total surrender to the Dhamma, to Tao, to the universal law, to existence.

Touching the very core of Buddha's teachings, Osho says: “The way of Gautama the Buddha is the way of intelligence, understanding, awareness and meditation. It is not the way of belief; it is the way of seeing the truth itself. Belief simply covers up your ignorance; it does not deliver you from ignorance. Belief is a deception you play upon yourself; it is not transformation.”

Paying the ultimate tribute to Gautama the Buddha, Osho says: “Buddha is an alchemist. He shows you the way how to transform your energies from the lowest to the highest center of functioning, from the mud to the lotus, from the baser metal into gold, from stones into diamonds. He is a scientist of the inner. His approach is utterly scientific, not philosophic at all.”
Gautam Buddha’s revolutionary technique of Vipassana Meditation was conducted and discourses of Osho on Buddha were played every evening during the Buddha Week.

LEELA ARTS ACADEMY PRESENTED “PANCHHI AISE AATE HAIN”

LEELA is a beautiful concept. It relaxes you tremendously, absolutely. If god is in LEELA, then don’t be serious and don’t keep long faces; there is no need. Become more playful. Life is a sport. Look at life with the eyes of play, non seriously.

It was the occasion of Buddh Purnima on 23rd May05, when the whole world was busy in festivities a different kind of celebration took place in Shri Ram Centre of Arts.

A play called ‘Panchhi Aise Aate Hain’ was staged at this very occasion, written by Shri Vijay Tendulkar and directed by Dr.Sanjeev Johri. This was the first time ever that Osho World hosted a play under Leela Arts Production.

This play based on the ideologies of Osho truly deserves to be appreciated. This play beautifully depicts the importance of independence to the self in the life of an individual. It tells us how though self-respect and self-love comes a transitional period in life. An individual who lives his life in freedom cannot be confined into bondage at all. But at the same time he too deserves to be loved.

Arun, the protagonist and the narrator of this play entranced the audience with his unique ideology in such a manner that they were able to connect on the same level. And indeed with no doubts it can be said that he is quite mature in his acting skills. All the other actors too deserve appreciation for the characters impersonated by them. Their acting created such a massive impact on the audience that somewhere even the audiences feel the sympathy for characters. Such a thought provoking play is a must watch. It contains within itself a flow, reasoning, a solution, a viewpoint, a way with words, dialogues that reach the core of human heart, and satire on unnecessary rituals rooted deep in our society. This play depicts the agony of a family. At any point you must not miss an opportunity to watch such a play.

Osho always is the guiding us at every step in life, in his message he says to us: -
“ Other than politics there are many big events happening across the world- one must show respect to it. Someone somewhere is singing a song, someone has written a new song, someone has composed a new music by the flute, someone has invented a new dance sequence, and someone has painted flowers… We must show respect to it all. It is because they all are making a contribution to life, helping life prosper.”

It is needless to say that literature, art, music, culture, philosophy and spirituality comes across as our real identity. It is for us to decide; what is worth listening? What is praiseworthy? What is auspicious? Any steps taken in this direction are always welcomed.

NEO EDUCATION CAMP FOR CHILDREN

Life is Education, Acceptance and Celebration! Keeping this aim in focus, a meditative camp was organized at Oshodham from May 25 to 29, 2005. Based on Osho’s vision, a series of pulsating sessions was conducted and coordinated by Swami Chaitanya Keerti, Ma Dev Dakshina and friends.

During this five day camp, children were introduced to the art of centering through Osho’s various meditation techniques like Gibberish, Kundalini, No-Dimension, Mystic Rose, Aum, Whirling and Stop Dance. The sessions were interwoven with heart touching activities such as "Heart Dance" or "Hugging the Trees".

This camp was an effort in the direction to make the child aware, so that a multidimensional human being can flower in him.

We should teach children meditation as we start educating their intellect. Just as the child comes to understand science, he should come to understand religion simultaneously. As his head grows brighter let his heart also grow full of light. “_Osho

Mystic Rose or Gibberish Meditation session were conducted to deal with the day-today problems children face e.g. anger thus stressing the art of let-go. Children were inspired to learn the art of expressing freedom and tuning in body, mind & heart through creativity sessions of painting, clay-modeling and acting.

Every Day non-competitive games were organized to paramount their feeling of togetherness & enhance group energy. For parents separate sessions were conducted & also a few combined sessions with children to enhance their feeling of oneness and opening to each-other.

Bringing out the essence of education, Osho says, “A real education will not teach you to compete; it will teach you to cooperate. It will not teach you to fight and come first. It will teach you to be creative, to be loving, to be blissful, without any comparison with the other.

The camp was an endeavor to bring the children closer to existence and to experience the sweetness of education through love, meditation, celebration and creativity.

“Education means drawing your inner being into expression in your living, your day-to-day life. Your honesty, your love, your compassion, should come from your inner being, not from teachings and scriptures…….” _ Osho
