Known as the living encyclopaedia of Indian classical music and a renowned classical singer, Khalifa Iqbal Ahmed Khan of Dilli Gharana said that India is a blessed land as it is the only place in the world where the tradition of Guru exists. He also sang the Doha's of Kabir at the occasion and spoke at length on the Guru-Disciple communion.

Osho says, "The guru is one whose vessel is so filled with God's love that he can contain no more. As he begins to overflow other vessels are filled through him. The guru means one whose wants are all fulfilled, since all desires have died, and longing is silenced. His vessel is so full that now he is capable of giving. And what can he do but give? When the cloud is saturated it must rain. Then only can it become light. The flower saturated with fragrance must give it up to the winds."

Swami Prem Anadi, the famous devotional singer from Pune added to the effervescenceUstad Iqbal Ahmed Khan, the Khalifa of Dilli Gharana inaugurating the Guru Vandana Week of the occasion by his songs. His rendition of "Aaj Osho ki masti mein jhoom" made the guests clap and dance. He was accompanied by Swami Amano Manish on guitar, Swami Avinash on Violin, Swami Sandeh on Tabla and Ma Nirmala as the female voice. Famous Punjabi devotional singer, Ms. Roopjit Kaur also joined in with her songs and lent completeness to the celebration of Guru-Disciple relationship. Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan also launched Guru Partap Saadh Ki Sangat - A special MP3 CD of Osho discourses on guru-disciple relationship and the August issue of Osho World Hindi Patrika dedicated to Shri Krishna and Srimad Bhagwad Geeta.

According to Osho, "The master, the guru, is a person with whom you are in deep love and faith and reverence. It is not just a relationship; it is a deep creativity. He can create you, he can transform you, he can give you a new birth."

The celebration of the spirit of Guru and Disciple will continue at Osho World till Sunday, 28 July 2002. Daily meditations will be held and Osho discourses will be played on audio each evening during the week
