RETURNING TO THE SOURCE
"Returning to the Source" is a book compiled from the spontaneous discourses given by Osho to disciples and friends on Zen. Through this book Osho presents Zen to the reader with essence of true teacher in himself.
In his talks Osho says that true teaching can never be taught. But, it can be simply indicated; it can be given and accepted. As he explains the true teaching he reveals the nature of a true teacher and also the disciple. The book is enriched with the his graceful advices through Zen which can transform the life of a seeker.
This book is an ideal one for those getting introduced to Osho and His loving grace. Undoubtedly, the book is an ideal guide for the self-seeker. Because, this book breaks the seeker from his past and unwanted conditioning of the past. It brings clarity to seekers from preconceived notions about meditation, sannyas and prayer. Osho presents all possible perspective and key to encounter one's own worries, insecurities, problems, fears and greediness in this novel book.
Osho's simple explanations and meaningful stories help the seeker to learn acceptance, silence and emptiness with Him not being present physically with the seeker. With His magical melody, He guides seeker into meditation and with enlightened essence takes the seeker into the journey of silence, emptiness, blissfulness.
As He spontaneously talks, Osho keeps reminding the seeker of what Gurdjieff, Buddha, Mahavira, Jesus and Krishna has given to mankind thus helping the seeker to relate with meditation and his individuality vis-a-vis with this world.
As one keeps turning the pages of the book, it reveals to the seeker the life lived in the past and their expressions and meaningfulness in context of the present. The seeker begins paying gratitude to the past, present and gets ready to move to the unknown future with more clarity, readiness and celebration.
Osho says: "Don't listen to what I say, just listen to the rhythm. Just listen to the harmony, the harmony of the opposites. And it is a single note, remember. I go on repeating the same thing every day in different ways. Sometimes a Zen story is the excuse, sometimes a Sufi story is the excuse, sometimes the Gita, sometimes Jesus or Mahavir; these are all excuses. But I go on repeating the same note. I go around you trying from everywhere, all the possibilities."
His symbolic message is "Listen to the music! Don't listen to the logic. It has no logic in it -- it has only a melody."
