 SEASON
OF SEASONS- THE INNER SPRING
If one knows how to live rightly, says Osho, one constantly
lives in the spring. In the inner world it is always spring,
things are always blooming; it is never otherwise.

ODISSI
PERFORMANCE AT OSHO WORLD GALLERIA
Enlightenment
week celebrations came to beautiful conclusion on 24th March
2005 at the Osho World galleria as Ma Hina Bharti’s performance
of Bharatnatyam and Odissi dance as an offering to Osho.
“Rhythm
of colours”, an exhibition of coloured glassware collection
was also launched during the occasion. Stealing from the colors
of the rainbow, as they light with the faint glow of candles,
the collection promises a mystical magic.

RITUALS
AND RULES
Osho says rituals and rules are neither religions nor they
cannot be religions. It doesnot mean that a religious person
cannot get into rituals, he can and when he does it is not
a ritual at all. His heart is in it; then his words have wings.

O WHAT OSHO
If you thought Osho is only about nudist camps and flowing
Sufi robes, think again! The clothes corner at Osho World,
Ansal Plaza, displays designer clothing to help meditation!
The
competitively priced collection - Haiku - launched around
three years ago, is the source of the Osho sandal fashion
frenzy which rocked the Capital last summer. This year, the
brand's short linen kaftans, cape-styled tops and varied stoles
should catch the fancy of flea markets and stores alike.
MIND,BODY,TEMPLE
Osho
takes us through the legend behind Khajuraho's erotic sculptures
and considers them as depicting emptiness of desire.
The most graphic, erotic and sensuous sculptures the world
has known are on the temple walls of Khajuraho. Every facade
- wall, window, pillar, and ceiling - of Khajuraho is carved
with figures of mythical and historical origins, and many
depict the innocent form of love on these walls.

 CREATIVITY:
THE ESSENCE OF SILENCE
Creativity is the essence of silence. Osho says, if your creativity
comes out of your silence and meditations, then it is authentic
and original. But if it comes only as an occupation because
there is nothing to do, it is coming out of the crazy mind,
then it cannot be a creative phenomenon.
Osho shares, “Anything that arises from your silences has
a beauty, a
truthfulness, an authenticity. And that which arises out of
the mind is only a carbon copy. Howsoever beautiful it may
appear to the ignorant, it cannot be called a creative phenomenon.”

MAN
IS AN ORGANIC UNITY
Though science has developed a better health system, diseases
do not seem to disappear. While answering to a question on
why diseases are persistent though highly developed systems
are available, Osho shares that man is a part of nature and
he should be treated as an organic whole, not just confining
to the sick part of the body.

FRUSTRATION:
A BY-PRODUCT OF EXPECTATION
Because there is so much expectation. Expect, and there will
be frustration. Don't expect, and there will be no frustration.
Frustration is a byproduct: the more you expect, the more
you create your own frustration. So frustration is not really
the problem, it is the result. Expectation is the problem.
Frustration is just a shadow which follows expectation. If
you don't expect even for a single moment, if you are in a
state of mind where there is no expectation, then it is simple.
You ask a question and the answer comes; there is a fulfillment.
But if you ask with any expectations you will be frustrated
by the answer.

NOTES
OF A MADMAN
Om
Mani Padme Hum
The Jewel in the Lotus
I
know you find it difficult to follow the word chawal. It
should be properly pronounced, but I'm not a proper man.
It should be pronounced jew-el, but I pronounce it cha-wal.
I pronounce it phonetically. English is illogical; it is
written in one way and spoken in another. My difficulty
is that I have lived and been brought up using languages
which are phonetic, which are written and spoken exactly
the same. English is a little bit crazy. If Jesus could
have read his words in the modern English version he would
have beaten his head, he would have wept. He had said on
the cross, "Father, forgive these people" -- the
people who were crucifying him -- "because they know
not what they are doing."
But I know perfectly well that seeing the English version
he would not have said this. Impossible. Jesus spoke Aramaic,
which is still spoken by a few people in the East. Gurdjieff
had come in contact with those few people, and whatsoever
Gurdjieff had said about Jesus is not from the modern English
version of the New Testament, it is from those few people.
He had heard the stories from those people. Those stories
have been passed by word of mouth.

 BEHIND
A THOUSAND NAMES
What is behind a thousand names?
Through
my window the sound of singing voices from a night meditation
in Buddha hall. The crickets chirping noisily. Or maybe it’s
frogs. The fan above me revolves with a hum. The glow of hundreds
of tiny, green fairy lights lights the path downstairs. The
footsteps of a group of seekers as they pass by on the way
to silent sitting in The Walkway, a long glass enclosed corridor
attached to Osho’s room, where the full moon bathes everything
in soft light.
The beautiful
voices waft through the window, claiming my attention… “letting
go into the mystery… rising….”
Paradoxically,
the night is silent. It is as if each sound is being born
out of the great womb of silence. Gifts from emptiness. Silence
like a temple for sounds. Sounds announcing silence. Living
silence.

Yoga Sudha
Buddha Purnima, May 1996

MULLA
REPRESENT THE WHOLE HUMANITY
A favourite of Osho in his discourses, Mulla jokes are very
popular among Osho disciples and friends. Jokes of Mulla Nasruddin,
the simpleton, rustic of yore who is known to have brought
laughter to peoples’ lives by making a fool of himself, have
a deep spiritual message.
Read on as Osho speaks of Mulla Nasruddin, the man and his
follies as the personification of the whole humanity
