Meditation camp for Children and Parents

Celebrating life, a meditative camp was conducted at Oshodham from June 27 to July 01, 2007. In this unique camp for children and parents, more than 150 people participated. Based on Osho’s vision, a series of pulsating sessions will be conducted and coordinated by Swami Chaitanya Keerti, Ma Dev Dakshina, Swami Anand Amit and friends.

During this five day camp, children were introduced to the art of centering through Osho’s various meditation techniques like Gibberish, Kundalini, Nadabrahma, Laughter, Aum, Whirling and No Dimension. This camp was an effort to make the child aware so that a multidimensional human being can flower in him.

We should teach children meditation as we start educating their intellect. Just as the child comes to understand science, he should come to understand religion simultaneously. As his head grows brighter let his heart also grow full of light” _Osho
Sharing meditation sessions were conducted to deal with the day-today problems children face e.g. anger thus stressing the art of let-go. Children will be inspired to learn the art of expressing freedom and tuning in body, mind & heart through creativity sessions of painting & paper art etc.

Few non-competitive games were organized to paramount their feeling of togetherness & enhance group energy. For parents separate sessions will be conducted & also a few combined sessions with children to enhance their feeling of oneness and opening to each-other.

Bringing out the essence of education, Osho says, “A real education will not teach you to compete; it will teach you to cooperate. It will not teach you to fight and come first. It will teach you to be creative, to be loving, to be blissful, without any comparison with the other.

The camp was an endeavor to bring the children closer to existence and to experience the sweetness of education through love, meditation, celebration and creativity.

Some children and their parents were shared their views on the meditation sessions and other activities. Alisha who studies in 12th standard says “whenever I feel stress then I take the help of meditation to refresh my energy. It gives me concentration and energy.” Ritam says “I will come again here because I enjoyed my all sessions.” The Parents were also happy to see the change in their children. In Shashi kant’s word “Before we come here my child was very aggressive but now I’m feeling happy to see change in my child.” On the other side parents also enjoyed the camp in the guidance of Swami Keerti. Sangeeta Chauhan says “I joined this camp late but then whatever I learnt here I’m satisfied with that.” Mamta says “I saw the changes in my son I would suggest this thing in my son’s school to the implementation of meditation. But I would love to take step forward from my city Lucknow.”
