The Delhi chapter of Indian Red Cross Society felicitated Osho World Foundation recently in recognition of relief operations initiated by the foundation following the calamitous Gujarat Earthquake that struck on 26 January 2001. The Red Cross Society appreciated the efforts of Osho World Foundation in supplying relief material, medicines, food and essential commodities to the disaster victims.
A major project in this effort was a dance ballet to raise funds for the cause.
Osho World Foundation organised a dance ballet by famous danseuse Mallika Sarabhai attended by the Prime Minister of India Shree Atal Bihari Vajpyee and other dignitaries.
The proceeds of the event went in the building of Gandhi Dham - a model township inspired by Swami Vinod Bharti aka Vinod Khanna (A Member of the Indian Parliament and a long time Osho disciple, and top film actor). He envisaged and created this camp on the lines of Rajneeshpuram, Oregon, where he had lived and meditated for some time. At a special function in the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shree Vijay Kapoor, presented this certificate commending the work of Osho World Foundation in the rebuilding of Gujarat.
