The former Union Finance Minister of India and the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Dr Man Mohan Singh, released a Special Day Cover issued by the Indian Postal Department to launch the yearlong 70th Birthday celebrations of Osho.

At a celebrity ceremony in New Delhi, the Special day Cover showing Osholovers celebrating their beloved Master was handed to Dr. Man Mohan Singh by the Post Master General, Mr. R. R. P. Singh at a star studded ceremony attended by Swami Vinod Bharti a.k.a. Vinod Khanna, M. P.; Shabana Azmi, film artiste, social activist and M.P.; and the noted classical singer Shubha Mudgal.

Speaking at the launching of a Special Day Cover, Dr Manmohan Singh said, "In a masterly way, Osho has taught us how to cope with the challenges of the complex world of today. The ancient Indian teachers and masters had evolved a system of teaching to achieve a perfect balance of body, mind and soul.

"As a great teacher and a great master, Osho is steeped in the ancient Indian tradition and yet he is teaching us a masterly way to cope with the challenges of the complex world we live in today, " said the eminent scholar and economist.

This was followed by the launch of the music album of Prem ki Madhushala consisting of the devotional songs of Meera And Kabir sung in classical ragas by Shubha Mudgal.

Among the distinguished guests in the audience were: D. R. Kaarthikeyan, former CBI Director and Director General of the National Human Rights Commission; legendary Army personality J. S. Arora of Bangla Desh War fame; Dr. Om Nagpal, Joint Secretary UPSC, well known sculptor K. S. Radhakrishnan; among others. Radhakrishnan created a bronze sculpture of an ecstatic, flying Meera with her stringed instrument that was presented to Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shuba Mudgal as a memento of the occasion on behalf of Osho World Foundation.
